Fares and Passes
Cash fares are based on the number of zones a person rides for a one-way trip. Zones are shown on the Around The Bay Zone Map to the left.
Exact cash must be placed in the fare box upon boarding the bus. The driver does not give change, and may require a passenger to show the fare before entering it in the fare box.
Passes may be purchased with the exact amount of cash, or money order or personal check (both for the exact amount only) directly from our bus drivers.
Or passes may be purchased at these other locations: the BART office, Ashland City Hall, and Washburn City Hall (for Washburn 'Blue Goose' Day Passes).
A volume pass is a $20 punch card that is $18. You save immediately with this purchase. This pass does not expire. When you board the bus, the driver punches the pass for the fare amount.
The monthly pass is the best deal for frequent riders. Monthly passes provide unlimited rides within the number of zones for a calendar month. This pass expires at the end of each month. To purchase a monthly pass, call the BART office first. Your name is placed on the pass and will be recorded and kept on file. You will only have to make the call once, because in the following months a pass will automatically be made for you.
Day passes are available for riders within the city of Ashland or Washburn. These passes are $4 for unlimited rides within city limits for one day only.
